Welcome to the Bath Anime and Manga Society!

We meet three times a week to watch a wide variety of shows in the lecture halls. We're a friendly bunch and everyone is welcome, so don't be afraid to come along! Check out the screening timetable here.

We host watches of anime with English subtitles every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday as well as plan out pre-screening shenanigans for Wednesdays and Fridays, not to mention the regular EVENTS (appox every other week)!

Our events usually replace a screening slot and happen in 8W1.1 (we work within our nonexistant budget TT) which are always a blast. Some favourites are "Presentation Night", "The Quiz", "Isekai Bingo", and "Karaoke Night". Hop on the Discord and ask anyone whats up with those or chat about anything, we've got an active welcoming community (who may promptly bombard you with questions about Goku and Volleyball). Membership also allows access to our book library, just let a member of the committee know if you would like to borrow a book.

Reasons to join us

  • Regular screenings!
  • Random goofy stuff before screenings
  • We like to have fun here
  • Biannual Quizzes!
  • Regular (haphazardly) organised events, broad range!
  • Access to our book library!
  • Anime Music Quiz! (AMQ)

Come and meet us

All (unless otherwise stated) screenings start at 19:30 at 8W 1.1 and if there's pre-screening stuff we'll be hanging about from 18:30. We recommend arriving at 19:30 so that you aren't late for the show! (we usually start late but don't bet on it)

Announcements and information for upcoming socials/screenings will be posted on the society's Instagram, and the Discord server. Please note that the Discord server is the go to though and will have the most information and activity.

Hi, I'm Tom, chair of the society, and I'm a third-year maths student. I'm mostly a manga reader and primarily like to read seinen and shonen, particularly Berserk, One Piece and Vinland Saga. I don't tend to watch anime as much, but some of my favourites include Legend of the Galactic Heroes and Gintama.
I also play a lot of games, especially rpgs and metroidvanias, and am a big fan of Xenoblade Chronicles, Megaten, Zelda and Metroid. I've also been getting more into The Elder Scrolls lately, as Skyrim was one of my favourite games growing up, and I've been especially enjoying Morrowind.
I'm John, the society’s treasurer and a 4th year in robotics engineering. My favourite anime is Jujutsu Kaisen, but I also enjoy psychological anime such as Death Note. I also enjoy going to conventions and cosplaying as my favourite characters, including Nagito Komaeda (Danganronpa 2), L (Death Note) and N (Pokémon Black/White). Games I enjoy include Super Smash Brothers, Pokémon, and the Persona series, but my favourites are indie games such as Undertale and Hollow Knight. Still patiently waiting on Silksong 😢.

Hi! I’m Josh, a second year computer science student, and I’m one of your general committee members this year. I’ll watch any genre, but my favourite shows are ones that make me laugh. A few of my top shows are JoJo’s, Mob Psycho and Haikyu. I haven’t read much manga, but Tom is trying to motivate me to keep reading One Piece (I’ll get there one day)
Outside of the society I enjoy playing volleyball and play a lot of video games! A couple I’m playing at the moment are Warframe and Dead by Daylight, but I have a fond love for the Legend of Zelda series.
Hey everyone! I’m Alastair, I'm a second year student studying EEE. Would you rather have unlimited bacon but no more games, or games, unlimited games but no games?
Don't like anime much.

Yo Im John I’m a member of the general committee for this year and I study CS also I like anime and stuff init brev. My fav is probably that one with the giant robots fighting so called “angels” cus the characters are all messed up. Anyways I’m an awkward nerd so don’t be shy if u wanna talk with me.
Hey, I’m Ella (2nd year MSDS) and I’m general committee for BAMS this year. I lean towards manga over anime and have been loving all things shoujo/josei recently, so hit me with all your cheesy romance recs🙏🏻 My all time faves are pretty varied and include Nana, Firefly Wedding, Erased and FMA brotherhood. I also started reading One Piece this summer so shall be doing that for the rest of my life.
Outside of anime/manga I pretend to be good at taekwondo and can normally be seen carrying board games to events that probably don’t need them.

Hi I'm Sam, one of your general committee members for this year. You can find me watching all sorts of different anime as I enjoy a wide range of genres. A few of my favourites are The Aquatope on White Sand, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and the Fate Series (currently reading the visual novel). While I have not read much manga, some of my favourites include Call of the Night, Three Days of Happiness and Jojo's. Looking forward to enjoying a great year here with everyone!
Hii I'm Tal, part of General Committee and I'm in my fourth year of aerospace engineering. Some of my favourite series include Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Moriarty the Patriot, Chainsaw Man, Sk8 the Infinity and Our Dreams at Dusk to name a few... I'm also into music, writing and just generally love talking about themes of my favourite pieces of media. As a former Percy Jackson kid, you shouldn't be surprised to find me ranting about how much I love the game Hades (sorry in advance), but I also thoroughly enjoy psychological/horror indie games such as Ultrakill, Signalis and Elevator Hitch.
All hail Queen Hatsune Miku.
