Beginners
Snowsports is open to people of all abilities, and also people keen to learn how to hit the slopes!
This year, we have beginners ski and snowboard lessons (see products page). Our aim is to get you confident enough to ski or board on our ski trip at the end of January. You will need to sign up to our beginner’s package which is a series of 2-hour lessons. These will happen on the smaller slope at Gloucester alongside our usual training session. No prior experience is necessary, but numbers will be limited so sign up quickly to avoid disappointment.
If you are new to the club, or snowsports in general, check out our 'Snowsports 4 Dummies' beginners guide.
Here’s a little insight into how some of our previous beginners have come to love skiing:
|
“Learning to ski from scratch is a daunting thing to do (especially if, like me, you’re allergic to taking risks…), but getting to do it with friends makes it a whole lot easier. The friendliness and helpfulness of the Snowsports society and the instructors at Gloucester, along with the chilled vibe that comes with all Snowsports events, honestly made Wednesday my favourite day of the week. By the time trip came around, I was a lot more confident, and could focus on just enjoying myself. My one piece of advice – remember your long sleeves and gloves!” – Cian Williams |

“I had never skied or snowboarded before joining Bath Snowsports. The instructors were all great help and started from the very beginning helping me to find my feet on the dryslope. By the end, I was confident, and by the end of the ski trip, I was on red slopes! A great price and a great experience, I highly recommend.” – Jake Vermeulen |

“Learning to ski amongst friends is the most fun you'll ever have at uni - I'm just salty I didn't listen to them sooner!” – Tim Thornton |
