Why volunteer?
Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills and meet like minded people this Summer. Helping others even helps you too! Volunteering has been shown to boost your mental health and improve wellbeing.
CV BOOSTING
Volunteering gives you unique experiences and a chance to pick up softer skills, practical skills and extra knowledge that you can highlight to potential employers. Organisations love to hear what passions you pursue and what challenges you've faced that are different to those found at a placement year or internship.
WELLBEING
Volunteering is good for you. Scientific studies have shown that helping others can contribute to our own happiness by experiencing more positive emotions and boosting our self-confidence. It can reduce stress and help us feel calmer too. Studies show that when we do kind things it can literally gives our brain a happiness boost.
