This week the University is running Be Well Week from Monday 9th to Friday 13 October, with different wellbeing events running every day.
Volunteering is proven to boost your wellbeing. Research by the charity Mind into 5 Ways to Wellbeing shows that giving your time to others helps improve your mental health and can lead to greater connections with people, and even learning a new skill.
The SU Volunteering Team supports students to lead volunteering projects in areas they feel passionate about (and might also want to gain CV-boosting skills!). They also work with dozens of local and national charities to provide one-off or regular volunteering opportunities to students.
