Summer Ball 2023 Round Up!

3,300 of you flocked to campus to enjoy fairground rides, a casino, a huge variety of live music, various food outlets, multiple venues, and of course, to party the night away in the main arena with live performances from Yungun and Sigma!

 

There are so many highlights to choose from that we couldn’t possibly mention them all, but some of our absolute favourites were watching you all arrive dressed so smartly and watching Jamma De Samba, who finished up their set by marching though campus leading a procession of students all the way to the Founders Hall. We also absolutely loved the performance from Aquapella, who got the entire tent up and dancing and URB who gathered crowds both outside by the lake and within the arena- just another reminder of how much talent we have here at Bath. It felt really special to ride the Ferris wheel and see our beautiful campus from above and was unforgettable watching students faces as they were thrown around on the Miami ride.

 

And then of course, one of the biggest highlights of the evening has to be finishing the night off with a bang in the Founders’ Hall with live performances from Yungun and Sigma! The atmosphere was electric, and it felt like the perfect finish to an amazing evening.

 

We wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who made Summer Ball possible- it couldn’t have happened without our very own student group Backstage, and our bars and events teams, who worked tirelessly to set up (and set down after everyone had gone home!) all the different venues which included set design, creative signage, all the sound and lighting and so much more.

 

Thanks also go to our student media group who were in attendance filming, taking photos and DJing. Everyone was going wild for the URB sets and we’re looking forward to seeing what was produced by CampusTV.

Summer Ball was the most wonderful send off to the 22/23 academic year and we can’t wait to get stuck back in with Freshers in September.
