For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Bath University Boob Team have been fundraising and campaigning for CoppaFeel.
We are so enormously proud of
Bath Boob Team who have brought groups together to raise money and awareness for
CoppaFeel. CoppaFeel is a charity dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer and to get young people checking themselves, with the aim of instilling the knowledge and tools they need to get to know their bodies. During Pink Week, Boob Team have been collaborating with loads of other groups with their giant boob turning up at games, yoga mornings and quiz nights.
Here is what they have been up to!
Pole x Boob Team Quiz Night
Kicking off Pink Week on Monday 14, BUBT teamed up with Pole and Aerial for a fun-filled quiz night at The Plug. Students from across the university came together to test their knowledge, all while learning more about breast cancer awareness while looking brilliant wearing pink. Boom Battle Bar kindly donated a round of karaoke for our winners!
T-shirt Decorating Party and Bracelet Making
Students personalised their own T-shirts on the Tuesday at The Edge Art Studio. The decorating party was a colourful way to show support for the cause and sport their custom designs for the rest of Pink Week. There was also a great turnout at the bracelet-making session on Wednesday. Not only were there some wonderful creations, but many people were also inspired to get involved with Boob Team.
Boob Team x Ceramics Workshop
Tuesday evening BUBT hosted a fun-filled ceramics workshop where they made everything from trinket dishes and incense holders to boob earrings! Everyone absolutely loved the creativity on show, all while raising awareness and £175 for CoppaFeel!
Rugby
Boob Team partnered with the women’s rugby team for an exciting afternoon match, followed by the men’s rugby anniversary game in the evening. Despite the rain, the energy and enthusiasm were high, with players and spectators showing incredible support. Together, they raised an impressive £400!
Boob Team x Dance Society
On Thursday, Boob Team came along for a beginner contemporary dance and intermediate ballet classes hosted by Dance Society. The giant boob joined in with the dancing and helped to spread awareness.
Yoga x Boob Team, Wear It Pink Day and Cake Sale
On Friday, everyone was encouraged to wear pink on campus to raise awareness. Boob Team joined Yoga Society for a relaxing morning session in The Edge Dance Studio. Everyone looked wonderful rocking their bright pink colours.
Later in the day, with Women's Netball and Women's Rugby, Boob Team set up a cake sale on The Parade, offering lots of delicious treats, and a raffle with prizes donated from Boom Battle Bar and The Fudge Kitchen. They raised £450 for CoppaFeel!, and the team had a great time chatting with people about the charity’s important work.
Boob On Tour and The Big Disco x Boob Team
The giant boob went on a tour of Bath this weekend to get heads turning and people wondering why a giant boob is shopping in Tesco. It was a great chance to talk to people about CoppaFeel and the important work they do.
To round off Pink Week, Boob Team took over The Big Disco at Komedia on Saturday, a club night that had everyone dancing the night away in support of the cause. Pink outfits and positive vibes filled the dance floor to celebrate the success of the week. £281 was raised on the night!
Pink Week? What About Pink Fortnight?
Even after raising over £1,300, that’s not all! Boob Team is continuing their campaigning this week as well:
- Boob Team x Women's Basketball: Join them for a special basketball game - expect an exciting match with a pink twist!
- Pink & Pink: Labyrinth Bar & Nightclub are hosting a pink club night Wednesday 23 to help raise money for CoppaFeel! Look out for the giant boob!
- Physics Coffee Social: Boob Team are teaming up with Physics Society for an educational coffee social.
- Pub Quiz: In collaboration with Women's Netball and Rugby we will be holding a pub quiz at Bath Brew House with lots of exciting prizes to be won. All money raised will go to CoppaFeel!

Boob Team loved collaborating with so many different societies throughout Pink Week, working together to spread the word about breast cancer awareness and support CoppaFeel! Together, we have made a meaningful impact, encouraging more people to check their chest regularly and reminding everyone that early detection can save lives. A massive thank you to everyone who has been involved - together we are making a real difference!”
