Lessons with James and Asia

James and Asia are our wonderful professional coaches, and run classes at three different levels!

Those new to ballroom and Latin dancing can focus on the basics in the Beginner class.

More experienced dancers can be challenged with more complex steps and in-depth technique in Novice or Intermediate.

If you are unsure which class is right for you, have a look at our level finding page. And you can of course come and try out the different classes at the start of the year to see which feels best!

Your first professional lesson is FREE, so that you can come and try before you buy, but after this it is £6 per 90 minute class - an absolute bargain that you won't find outside of University!

Sunday evenings in Claverton Rooms

Intermediate: 16:30-18:00

Novice: 18:00-19:30

Beginner: 19:30-21:00

Technique/Workshop Class

This FREE class is an oppurtunity to focus on improving your technique as opposed to learning new steps. Latin and Ballroom technique will be taught in alternating weeks. Knowing the essentials can really make a difference in competitions, and can also just generally enhance your enjoyment of dancing.

Tuesday evenings in 1 West Foyer

Experienced: 19:30-20:30

Beginner: 20:30-21:30

Sequence Dancing

Sequence dancing is lead by committee for FREE and involves preset patterns of steps. The focus is less on technique and more on picking up these short routines that can be danced with anyone who knows them (and taught relatively quickly to anyone who doesn't!).
Some of these sequences have been danced for over 100 years!

Thursday in Claverton Rooms: 18:30-19:30

Social Dancing

Social dancing is a fun opportunity to dance between competition levels, socialise with your friends, try out new moves, and enjoy some quality BULB time!

Thursday in Claverton Rooms: 19:30-21:30 (straight after social dancing!)
