We're The Drawing Rooms (TDR) - a unique and quirky venue in the centre of Bath catering to visitors to the city as well as locals.
Established 2019 and hidden away in a three-storey Georgian Townhouse, we are known for our live piano and karaoke, great private parties and group cocktail masterclasses. Our regulars tell us that our place feels like a grown-up house party. We're an experiential venue and our guests choose to come to us instead of places like Lane 7 and the theatre rather than pure play bars in town. We are looking for student piano players who can play one of two pianos in the venue, alongside or before/after our resident, mostly at the weekend (Friday-Sunday) - with various set times from 18:00-02:00.
Perhaps you play a style like boogie woogie/jazz classics/funk and would be great for an early session
We can pay more for the right person if your mind works around pop chord progressions rather than reading music (i.e. you can take requests) and if you can sing (and can put up with singing Mr Brightside four times a night).
Please note however that we are are not looking for someone who only plays classical music - we're a piano bar not a gig venue.
You will need to be comfortable playing in front of an audience and ideally confident to engage with them. Don't feel that a lack of repotoire is neccesarily a problem in the short term - our last student player (who has now graduated) started with us playing a handful of tunes and quickly ended up gaining more confidence and was before long taking requests and getting tips all evening.
