Our Club
The University of Bath Cricket Club (UBVCC) offers opportunities for cricketers of all abilities to develop their game and represent the University. We run five men's teams; with the 1st and 2nd XI teams playing in the BUCS league structure, we have a competitive development team (3rd XI) and two recreational teams (4th and 5th XI). We also have one women’s XI that play a mixture of friendly and competitive development matches. Across the club, most fixtures take place on Wednesdays, but due to the shortened university cricket season we play throughout the week to ensure our members can get more game time. We tend not to play at weekends to allow members to play club cricket.
During the winter we have both a mens and womens BUCS indoor cricket team. As well as two indoor cricket teams that play in the Bath Indoor Cricket League. The men's team 'Bath Blue Storm’ compete in Division 1, while the women's team play in Division 2. Fixtures take place at Ralph Allen School on Sunday afternoons and evenings.
Whether you like to play socially or competitively, there is always a team for you at the UBVCC. Spectators, scorers and umpires are always warmly welcomed, and we have a vibrant social calendar that makes sure you can be just as involved as playing members.
Reasons to Join Us
Squads, Matches and Training
The University of Bath Cricket Club is one of the biggest clubs in the university with one of the largest student memberships. We provide state of the art facilities and have very close links to Bath CC, one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the country. This allows us to train at their superb indoor facilities and play our BUCS games at the picturesque North Parade ground of Bath CC. Our friends at Bath CC also provide coaching for our men's and women's 1st XIs.
All members can train at least twice a week in our recreational sessions (Mondays and Fridays). Each squad then has an allocated time to train in Founders Hall.
Socials
We have themed socials every other Wednesday attended by playing and social members alike. Most of our socials begin at 'The Boundary' (Bath CC) and culminate in a trip back up Bathwick Hill for the campus club night, SCORE!
Our packed social schedule features annual events such as 'Snowball' (Christmas dinner at Bath CC followed by a Christmas-themed SCORE), a Chelteham Races Day, and much more.
Golf
One benefit of joining our club is that we have heavily discounted membership to Lansdown Golf Club. Please contact the committee for further details.
