BathMUN 2024- 2025

Meet the Committee!

Chair: Ian Cotton

2nd Year BSc Economics

Email: ic547@bath.ac.uk

🇬🇧

Ian is an Economics student from London. Having only discovered MUN at university, he was excited by the prospect of tricking fellow delegates into supporting ‘creative’ policies. He also enjoys writing fun python code that sometimes works, running at Parkrun and ensuring that the preacher can be heard at church.

As Chair, Ian is the leader of the committee. He manages the responsibilities of the other five and ensures that they get their jobs done, giving any assistance necessary. He chairs committee meetings, meets with the SU and acts as the face of the society both internally and externally. He is also responsible for ensuring that we are nominated for an SU award for the 3rd year running!

Vice Chair: Mailaau Mumthaz Hussain

2nd Year BSc Psychology

Email: mmh81@bath.ac.uk

🇲🇻

Mai has been described by her friends as having a concerning amount of life side-quests and terrifying in the art of OSINT. She discovered MUN in university, and very quickly became addicted as she attended 7 conferences in her first year. She spends her days perusing archives to uncover the history of BathMUN since 2008, collecting jellycats, taking spontaneous midnight trips to London and baking. She's also very involved in a variety of other societies such as TEDx and SpaceSoc, even attempting to create her own society. In her rare free time, she studies BSc Psychology and does more MUN.

As Vice-Chair, Mailaau has the most broad responsibilities of any committee member. She is currently responsible for managing the society alongside the Chair Ian and ensuring that MUN runs smoothly. She is also the resident archivist of the society, documenting the full history of the society all the way back to 2008 when we were founded. Mai can be found doing a bit of everything around the society to ensure it continues on its path to glory.

Outreach Officer: Nadia Gera

4th Year BSc International Management and French

Email: nbg23@bath.ac.uk

🇷🇺🇲🇹🇬🇧

Unlike your typical politics student, Nadia is an International Management and French student, about to go into final year. She is well-known for her international spirit given she was born and raised in London in a Russo-Maltese household. On top of that, she well-travelled and has lived in 3 countries. She spent 6 years of her life in Kenya, and she is currently on a year abroad in France. Nadia started MUN during her second year and has fallen in love with it ever since. She particularly enjoys going out, travelling, discovering new places and their cultures, learning new languages, and meeting new people. Hence, MUN is a perfect fit for her. As outreach officer, she hopes to provide BathMUN with more opportunities to learn and make new connections.

As outreach officer, Nadia will manage BathMUN’s external relations. Her main responsibility is to reach out to and communicate with other societies in Bath as well as MUN societies from other universities. She will also be in charge of planning any joint sessions or events, collaborations and forming partnerships. For other societies wishing to work with BathMUN, Nadia is your point of contact.

Training Officer: Josh Rogers

MRes AAPS CDT

Email: jjr64@bath.ac.uk

🇬🇧

Josh is a second-year integrated doctorate student, hailing from Corby in the East Midlands - previously studying computer science at the University of Leicester. Being the grandad of the society, he has only discovering MUN last year and dived right into delegating, chairing, and also organising Bath's very-own conference in 2024. Outside of research in calculating environmental impact uncertainty of public transport, Josh is also a massive nerd for Eurovision, is an at-home barista, and an addict to television appearances.

As training officer, Josh helps organise and lead the iconic weekly training sessions. During sessions he determines the topic and committee simulated, the countries taking part, and wrangling chairs, if necessary. He also ensures any delegation is well prepared before any conference, and works with other committees near to Bath to run collaborative sessions.

Social Officer: Rohan Sudhaman

Email: rms89@bath.ac.uk

🇭🇰🇮🇳🇬🇧

Rohan is a 2nd year Politics and International Relations student from Hong Kong. He started MUN when coming to Bath and hasn’t looked back. A Social Officer, Rohan is responsible for both the socials of the society (keep an eye out for next year’s quiz league) and at least in interim, the welfare and inclusivity of BathMUN, ensuring everyone is welcome at the society. He is also the current admin of this Instagram account, producing posts, graphics and ensuring that people stay informed of what the society is getting up to.
