Academic Representation is run in partnership between the University and The Students' Union. The Students' Union delivers Academic Reps training, development, and ongoing support as well as facilitating the online election. Whereas the University owns and facilitates the governance structures, which Reps feed into.

The Students' Union has members of staff who deal with student representation. These staff members are responsible for facilitating The Students’ Union's activities regarding Academic Representation. Their role also includes supporting the full-time SU Officers in their role and carrying out projects regarding student representation.
