Education Awards 2021 Online Celebration
The fifth annual Education Awards are an opportunity to recognise and reward the outstanding contribution that students and staff make towards the rich education community at The University of Bath.
The event was held virtually on Thursday 6 May 2021 at 17:30. Annie Willingham, The SU Bath Education Officer, and Professor Peter Lambert, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Learning & Teaching), hosted the virtual event, announcing the winners for the student Academic Representative, Staff, Peer Support and the University Teaching Awards 2021.

Academic Reps make a real difference to our studies, and it’s important to celebrate that. These awards give us the opportunity to recognise the Reps that have gone above and beyond to try and make education at Bath the best it can be.

Staff-Student Liaison Committees (SSLCs) are committees that aim to discuss and solve problems within each department. This award is there to recognise an SSLC chair who’s been consistently run meetings in a fair and open way.

A large part of the postgraduate community at Bath are teaching. This award is for postgraduates who teach, to appreciate the help they’ve given us throughout our studies. This can be for demonstrations, lectures, seminars or tutorials.

Personal Tutors play such an important role in supporting us with our studies and personal development throughout our course. We think this is something that should be celebrated and want to give you the chance to nominate them for an award.

Non-academic staff are the key to making sure our studies run smoothly. They might be departmental support staff, lab technicians, faculty librarians, or a technician who supports workshops. We want to award support staff that have made an exceptional contribution to our studies throughout the year.

This award recognises the work of individual Peer Mentors, PAL Leaders and Student Trainers that have made a real difference to their fellow students. Any individual Peer Mentor, PAL Leader or Student Trainer can be nominated for this award.

This award is for a staff member who organises and supports Peer Support within the University and provides support for volunteers in such a scheme. This could be any staff member who supports Peer Mentoring, Peer Assisted Learning or peer-led Skills Training.

This award recognises groups of Peer Mentors, PAL Leaders and Student Trainers that have worked together to make a real difference to their fellow students. Any size group of Peer Mentors, PAL Leaders or Student Trainers can be nominated for this award.

This award recognises Peer Mentors, PAL Leaders and Student Trainers that have provided exceptional support to their fellow volunteers during their time in the role. All Peer Mentors, PAL Leaders and Student Trainers are eligible for this award and can be nominated as an individual or a team. Only students can nominate fellow students for this award.
